Springdale Spotlight
The Perfect Small Office Springdale is excited to have Brandy Pendleton and her team at The Bair Foundation as part of our family! The Bair Foundation is a Christian non-profit social services ministry for children, youth and families. Staff here at their Cincinnati branch office focuses on the recruitment, training and licensing of foster and adoptive families, and are proud to have successfully placed 15 youth in foster care since they began calling us home in May of last year!
The Bair Foundation was originally established in 1967 in the small town of New Wilmington, PA, but has now expanded its ministries to include 31 offices in 9 states across the country. CMC and The Springdale Office Center consider it an honor that we are able to serve as a home base for such a phenomenal foundation that empowers youth and families in the greater Cincinnati area. Brandy Pendleton, Director of Social Services, along with her staff works diligently to serve families by teaching courses to prepare them for full-time foster parenting, part-time foster parenting, foster-to-adopt and medically needy foster care. These courses are held approximately 8 times per year, consisting of five week night and three Saturday sessions, with a huge emphasis on identifying compatible and healthy matches and placements for all involved.
If you were to visit the Bair Foundation’s Cincinnati office you might notice one whole room stockpiled with lots of goodies. “We are loved by lots of people,” Ms. Pendleton told us as she reflected on all of the local businesses that support their ministry and our Cincinnati youth through donation. Contributors include but are not limited to One Simple Wish, Dave & Busters, Kohls and Journey. From sports equipment to school supplies to sponsoring parties for foundation families to brand new Journey Bags that each child and youth receives the day of placement, every donation is a blessing. The idea of the Journey Bag is that this very special gift provides comfort to the child who receives it as well as something to call their own by containing things such as personal hygiene items, under garments, socks and other various comfort items including journals, toys and candy. The number of ways to serve is endless and contribution of all types is welcomed. For example, Kohls generously sends up to five volunteers monthly to provide childcare so parents are able to attend foundation courses, proving that time and an extra set of hands are every bit as valued and appreciated as monetary donations.
All of us here at CMC wish The Bair Foundation continued support and success, and we are looking forward to checking in with Brandy and her team from time to time to follow up on the great things they are doing for the community!
