She shoots, she scores, she is the owner & director of Soccer Shots here in Cincinnati!

Brittany Gehringer grew up playing soccer, watching her brothers play soccer, and now coaches her daughter’s soccer team as well as being the owner and director of Soccer Shots in Warren, Butler, and Hamilton county. Her love for the sport has only grown over the years! Did you know soccer is the #1 introductory sport for youth? “I love sports in general, staying physically active and being a part of a team.  I think children learn so much about life from being a part of a team.” she commented. Brittany is all about “providing a great experience and foundation to the game of soccer with Cincinnati’s youth”.

Brittany has been a director of Soccer Shot for 5 years, but in total, the organization has been operating in Cincinnati for over 15 years! Brittany met the previous owner through mutual friends and once she found out they were selling, she jumped on the opportunity to take over! Now she calls herself lucky to be working with the youth.

Soccer Shots was originally founded in 1997 by Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, who played soccer together as teammates in college and professionally. Not only did they share a passion and love for the game, they also had a desire to encourage children to live healthy and active lives. Along with that passion and a recognition of the lack of “quality soccer programs” for young children, Soccer Shots was born!

The organization first began in Charlotte, NC and Harrisburg, PA and saw huge success. Over the next few years, friends and former teammates wanted to be involved, which lead to the first four franchises in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania in 2005. Soccer Shots has continued to spread across the country and into Canada! In 2009, another former teammate, Justin Bredeman, joined Soccer Shots as a partner and brought along years of experience in franchising. “His deep understanding of the franchise business model also comes from the knowledge gained from his five years of owning and running a Soccer Shots business of his own.” Soccer Shots is now has multiple locations spread across 37 states and Canada. In Cincinnati, about 5,000 children are impacted each year. In 2018, there were over 440,000 enrollments into the program across the US!

When asked about the rewarding parts of her job, Brittany replied with “I love watching children’s excitement when they score goals, learn something new and build their confidence through the game.  In addition, I love working with our amazing team of coaches that choose to pass on their love for soccer to younger generations.”

Soccer Shots has programs for ages 2 – 8 years old. There’s something for everyone! “Soccer Shots focuses on individual skill, fitness and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Children will also be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner.” If you or someone you know wants to get your children involved, you’re in luck! They provide classes via: childcare centers, preschools, elementary schools and programs open to the public.
