Meet Connie Jo Thomas (Jones) and Eric Jones. Connie was the very first property manager at CMC Office Center Beechmont. Back then it was called Executive Center East. She began work in 1976/77. Eric was a concrete contractor. He came to give a bid on laying a sidewalk between the office building and the building next door which used to be a Texaco gas station. Eric says he took one look at Connie and thought he’d met an angel from heaven. “She was so beautiful. I almost had to leave to regroup myself. I was instantly in love.” They were married in 1983 on Nordyke Rd. at the Calvary Chapel.
Connie remembers working for property owner, David Wolf. “He was so nice to me. He was a great boss and treated me so well.” She is so deeply appreciative for the opportunity even 38 years later. “I was making great money for a working mother. I had so much energy back then. I loved the job. I made so many friends here.” Connie and Eric moved to Clearwater, Florida some years later. Today they were up visiting family and decided to stop in and reminisce about the very beginning of a very long love story. Still love birds almost 40 years later. Thank you, Connie and Eric, for stopping in to tell me your story.
